New Camera!

I’m sooooo excited! I got a new camera!!!!!! A Canon 5D!!!!!!! (Yep, I made the switch from Nikon to Canon!) I have been WANTING this camera for at least a year and now that it’s sitting here on the table next to me, I have to pinch myself every so often because it’s seriously a dream come true for me! I played around with it today and wow, the full frame sensor is incredible! I can see, I can see! I’m trying to memorize where all the buttons are, menu options, and don’t even ask me how to use my new Canon 430EX speedlight flash – OMG that thing confuses me! (My old Nikon SB400 had an on/off button – that’s it!) My new 430EX flash has all sorts of buttons and when you put it in M mode, you get mucho over exposure! Maybe I’ll finally embrace natural light photography after all. I also got a spiffy new lens for my new camera – a 50mm 1.4 USM lens! With all this new technology at my fingertips – I have got a lot to relearn in a short amount of time (my next session is tomorrow, Sunday at 4pm!!)

This image is soft because I had my new 50mm lens almost all the way open but will you LOOK at Hayden’s eyes…

I big puffy heart my new camera! Puffy puffy hearts everywhere.

Welcome to the “Canon Family”! I love my 50mm 1.8, still saving for the 1.4, but maybe by then I will be able to afford the 1.2. Love the photo, have fun with the new camera :)

CONGRATS!!!!! So jealous here. Been eyeing that camera, too. Have fun with it; I’m sure your pics will be amazing!

I have the 430EX and still find it confusing (and I use it alot). :)

Welcome to the family! :) Can’t wait to see more pictures from your new camera…I will be going full-frame next year (once I am actually charging good money!). The 430EX really isn’t too hard to figure out…I just turn it on & bounce away!

I love this shot! Where were the blocks found in that bright of color? I’ve not seen any like these in that color. Did she just handpaint some natural blocks maybe?

admin - March 20, 2009 - 10:49 PM

They are alphabet blocks from Walmart! :-)

She took a fall at daycare and bruised her forehead earlier in the week – but I bet you didn’t notice until I told ya!:-)Photoshop makes boo boos all better. I’m working on the rest of your photo session! There are so many cute pictures!
